Majestic Blue
I am a poet to my former pride – an open heart, shield to one side
You are a picture clearer, than any one yet taken,
and a daily bread much softer baked than any I have partaken of
You make me listen, listen harder, listen softer, louder, farther
I’m a lunatic for sounds, your song so true
Majestic Blue, well that is you
.
I’m a memory of my former self – a pretty dress, a dusty shelf
You are honey sweeter than any I have tasted,
and a wine much deeper red than many I have vested in
You make me richer, poorer, crazy, head held higher, passion hazy
I’m a lunatic of thoughts and feelings through,
Majestic Blue, well that is you
.
I am a shadow of my future chance – a caffeine fix and midnight dance
You are an opera better than anyone yet written,
and a song much sweeter sung than many I have listened to
You make me reach for so much more love, head held tilted, open door love
I am a lunatic for touch and feelings too,
Majestic Blue, well that is you
.
I can paint you on my walls, and still not reach the waterfall,
of your colors – wild and pure
I can will with every might can ache and dance and scream and fight,
to find your colors – rich and sure
I can build blocks for us to lay, wrap picket fences in a way,
that fit for all the possibilities that reign,
that you that runs so deeply in my veins
But I can’t reach inside to glue,
To capture that Majestic Blue, that hue
.
I am a poet to my former pride – an open heart, shield to one side
You are a picture clearer, than any one yet taken,
and a daily bread much softer baked than any I have partaken of
You make me listen, listen harder, listen softer, louder, farther
I’m a lunatic for sounds, your song so true
Majestic Blue…well that is you.
Fool Me Not
Hey Preacher man
Tear me a strip of life, and show me your way
Bring out the sinners, so he the valiant may pray
For, I see a light where dust doesn’t settle
Where minds parade and sacrifice a little
To show our pride, less greed is granted
Lift up the skies and yell, peace is all I’ve ever wanted !
Come stretch your legs, and give to me what’s mine
Levitate above, and let ageless beauty shine
Then swallow me whole, let no seed flourish
My gift to you is me…you wish !
Walls aren’t Straight
The walls that should be straight
Are somehow fallen in
And when I walk into a room
They bend and start to swim
As nothing’s straight and nothing fits
I step outside my skin
And stand right there beside myself
The whole illusion spins
.
The people I have known a while
Are talking to my face
And of my thoughts and dreams and aches
They cannot find a trace
And some have known me many years
And yet they still can’t see
That all the while I make a smile
That isn’t really me
.
It’s very strange
I think you know, I think you feel it too
Until you find the one who sees
You’re never really you
The one who doesn’t have to look
Too deep within your skin
To know the place that you belong
The shell that you fit in
It opens up the room for you
And puts all things upright
It straightens walls, unlocks the doors
And sets your world to right
.
How strange it feels to talk as if
I always will be here
To plan to paint the crooked walls
As if I’ll keep them near
But as I talk and sit beside myself
And they lean in
My dear, the inner me
The one I am
The one you see
Is desperately aching to begin.
Daisy chain dream
Daisy chain dreams I may entice
Creative minds and beauty too
Ladybird secrets lay dormant…Mouse
Floating in seas of sapphire blue
What is Love
What is love if not a knock on the door
At four in the morning as you’re down on the floor
And it’s picking you up like no trouble at all
Fitting the pieces together
.
What is anger if not your own wake-up call
Because you are the one who’s in charge of it all
Throwing you down like a dive from a wall
Fragmenting pieces forever
.
And the hand that held out for you…
Love in a grasp
Holds to you fast ‘til your questioning’s passed
This is the hand that you’ll want to hold tight
Those are the arms that should warm you tonight
.
And the love on the face of the one who defends
This is the love on which dreaming depends
What is time if not the ticking of clocks
Or that lover of yours endlessly picking at locks
Patiently waiting ‘til your penny drops
Fearlessly facing the weather
.
So then what is hope, If not the light at the end
What’s the tunnel of darkness if not shared with a friend
Who washes away every fear ‘round the bend
Putting your life back together
For the hand that held out for you…
Love is no task
.
It takes yours so gently ‘til dark times have passed
This is the hand that will always hold tight
This is the one you should cherish tonight
And the look in the eyes reflect why you depend
This is the soul with whom love never ends.
